Hey folks... Next time a Member sends you a guitar, get them on the phone when you open it up.
The box arrived a week ago and immediately went into the music room to acclimate.
Stephen had sent me pictures, I trusted its condition, it came from a Member. The shipping box had no cuts or dents. There was none of that “fleeBay apprehension-to-microscopically-examine”. Lady Noah and I had so much going on with the “kids” over the last week, we were getting over that flu, I was exhausted, but I knew there was a near mint ’97 in that box waiting for me.
I had the whole day to myself yesterday.
I got Stephen on the phone and said let’s open it together.
Never done that before, it was fun.
Stephen, I enjoyed talking to you. It is an awesome instrument.
The wait over the last week was tougher in you.
As for the Parlor… IMHO, tuned down a step, it has the mellowest acoustic sound… picture an intimate candlelight dinner for two under the stars. The 12 fret neck and body shape allow a very comfortable playing position. I encountered no “got to get used to” features. Haven’t plugged it in yet. Just received a mint Trace Elliot TA100R Concert that is waiting to hook up with the Parlor. |

Now you see why I still have 2 more of them (1 Wide and 1 Narrow) :D
I also thought that when I tuned it down for shipping (and got that one last play in) that it sounded absolutely awesome downtuned...and it held the lower tuning amazingly well. I have actually downtuned the wide neck since I sent yours out...will probably leave it that way. Like you said, very mellow and it really fills out the bottom end.
It was cool talking to a new member on the OFC. I have spoken on the phone with several members and it is always a kick to add a new one to the list :) |

| Noah you old romantic. The one thing I couldn't work out is who is at the candlelit supper for two. Lady Noah or the Parlour? |
