Location: Madison, Wisconsin | Carol and I just got back from listening and "feeling" Kaki play at the University of Wisconsin Student Union pub. WOW! This is the second time I've been able to see her play and I'm awe struck once again. The sound system was much better this time and she has added a few instruments to her tool kit. I think Dave mentioned that not all of her music was to his taste which I agree with but everything was done very well. Carol pointed out that I hear music and she feels music and that Kaki is able to project both. What a show. On a sad note, some "little punk" rear ended her car in Ann Arbor and did $7,000 in damage so her car is in the shop in Michigan. She's driving a rental car at this point.
By the way, the place was packed with standing room only and the crowd loved her. |

Very nice review, makes us all watch to see if Kaki is performing somewhere nearby. |

Location: Madison, Wisconsin | Doesn't look like she's going to be out your way soon Bailey. She's going to FL then to Japan for a while. It was great to see so many young kids enjoying her music. |

Location: atlanta | Bill, she was lucky not to be seriously hurt in that car wreck in Ann Arbor. Her car is a 1998 Toyota Avalon (big trunk for carrying gear, heavy car, good for touring etc.), and the damage came darn close to totaling it. She'll be in Japan when the repairs are finished, so she's trying to figure out how to get the car back to New York City. Any volunteers in the Ann Arbor area?
I'm glad you got to see a show where the soundboard people knew what they were doing. It's good to hear that the show was sold out, she's been selling out almost every show on this current Midwest tour. She's in Chicago tonight, having sold out at a popular venue--Shuba's.
Back in December she was briefly on tour with G. Love and Special Sauce. I just ran across this nice poster made up by Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa:

I still have a few DVD's if anyone wants one.
Best to all--
