Hi. I have been interested in getting my hands on one of these from 1980s with gloss finished walnut neck (if I can find one). But I want to know what sort of neck profile does it have? V-shaped? Thin? How does it compare to the regular Adamas from the same era?

The wide-neck is like a shallow D rather than a V. If you've ever played a 70's Ovation 12-string the profile is very similar. I have an early Adamas wide-neck & a custom-order Folklore with the same neck profile and anything else just feels wrong to me now.

The 1689-8 (s/n 0173) I have has a rather flat / thin neck, definitely not a V-shape. The regular Adamas I has a bit more V but not by much.

Mmm... Just as I thought. The thing is I like a fat neck with U-shape rather than D, which is why I like my Adamas I. I only need a tad more spacing between strings with the same neck feel.
