Hello, it's been a while since I wrote here, but I always read you...so, just to check, can my '87 Collector that has the famous "Kaman-bar" truss-rod be adjusted (if there is a need)? I don't see where to intervene...

It's inside the guitar at the base of the neck. If you look, you'll see the two bolts holding the neck on and the adjustment nut.

Odd timing. A friend of mine just recently inherited an '87 Collectors (her grandfather's), and was surprised when I told her that it is still today a quite sought-after guitar. It appears rarely played and is in perfect condition, but needed a bit of setup, which included a TR adjustment. The thing was so tight that I couldn't get my nervous tongue tight enough against my nervous cheek in the process, and with a bit of pucker, but by backing it off first before tightening, it finally gave and only took about a quarter turn (back into the tightening direction) to achieve perfect. Fortunately I had the proper wrench with the correct reach and large knob (thank you John Budny).. so if you decide to adjust it make sure the turning radius on the wrench handle is large enough to where you can ease it slooooow (acceptable, too, if you have an "L" wrench that will fit inside the bowl). This applies to all the old Kaman Bars since most are quite set in place from age (unless they have been recently adjusted).
