Hi Everyone,

This is my first time posting on this forum, though have I have been reading previous posts for a while now.

My Ovations:
-1657 Anniversary
-1624 Country Artist
-Elite Bass.

Does anyone know someone in the Bay Area (Oakland, CA) that works on Ovations? The action on my 1657 seems a bit high and I would like someone to look at it. I emailed ovation support last year and they told me that anyone could work on them, but I find that hard to believe.

Thanks,

John

Hi John, For something like checking the action pretty much any reputable guitar shop should be able to.

If it makes you feel better though, I bought my first guitar, an Ovation, at Starland Music in Alameda. If they don't have a repair guy onsite, I guarantee they know a good place. Once upon a time, they were a big O dealer.

OK, thanks Damon. I will post there. Wow, that is quite a collection you have (and had). I see you have a 1657. Mine is like that except that it has the natural finish (-4 I believe). I was torn between that and the 1619, but the 1619 seemed a bit blingy for me. Have a nice day.

John
