Some of ya’ll might remember this thread:

http://www.ovationfanclub.com/megabbs/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=26523&start=1&highlight=christmas+song&highlightmode=1

Where I asked you guys to help me find a Christmas song that I’ve been looking for for several years….

….Well, Eureka!! I have found it….with the help of my new friend and new OFC member  CrazyHoops (he hasn’t posted yet but…. )

Paco, (CrazyHoops) PM’d me last Saturday and asked me if I had found the song (which I hadn’t) and provided me a link with a sound bite, and wanted to know if that was THE song (he has been searching many years to find the song also)

http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?pid=4384416&style=music  (song #6)

Yes!!! That was it! ...I did a little research online (now that I had a CD to search info on) and found out the the song was released just on THAT CD in ’94 (didn’t realize I’d heard it that long ago) by the (then) country duo of Orrall & Wright (Robert Ellis Orrall and Curtis Blaine Wright) who are successful singers/songwriters with many hits by many well know artist…But!...nowhere on either of these guy’s discographies did I find this song mentioned! (I couldn’t find out if they wrote it together or even if they wrote it)

Anyway…needless to say I’m a happy camper and both Paco and I have bought the CD containing this song!

On a side note…In my original post, Bobbo & Damon suggested that I use Shazam or Soundhound to try and find the song.

Well, I played the sound clip to both, and neither one found the song!

I got a feeling that when other folks who are looking for this song finds this thread….this CD is going to be in great demand!

Thanks again, Paco…..

The link takes us to an album. I assume the song, "Reason for the Season" is the one you are looking for. Putting the title of the song in the title of the thread might help in future searches. Of course, if the searcher can't remember the title, it makes it tough. I can't remember the name of anything anymore. That's why I use my name and location in my posts, so I know who and where I am.
I've always been bad at remembering names, so it has nothing to do with age.

Wow. That was almost as tough to find as that hotel in Ct a few years back, wasn't it, Mike?!

Mark - Yeah I realized after I posted this that it couldn't be found searching for "reason for the season" so, I'll probably revive the old original thread and just add to the bottom. I've noticed in the past when I tried to search the song, that my post here and on another forum would be at the top of the search list....In fact that's how Paco found me!

Wease - I'd still have trouble finding that hotel...luckly I had my wife with me!

It's worse when you've got a guitar riff ear worm stuck in your head and you're trying to remember what song it came from. I am terrible at those radio quizzes. My mind goes blank whenever I need to recall a name or lyric. It usually pops into my head in the middle of the night, though.
We're going to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra tonight and I keep calling it Transylvanian Orchestra. I think that was for Halloween.

Mike had more trouble trying to find out who the member of the year was from me.
