Hello to all fans of Ovation.
This is the first time I write and I apologize for my typing errors, I'm from Argentina and I do not speak English.
I need help learning how to decipher the serial numbers of my Ovation guitars.
I have an Ovation Custom Balladeer (1612-4) with serial number 043491.
Could someone help me decipher the year of manufacture of this guitar and explain how to do this?
Thanks for sharing your love for these wonderful guitars

No need to apologize about your english, it's better than some of the guys around here.  Here's a link to the Ovation web site that can help you date your ovation: Crack the code  You need to select "6 Digit" where it says, "Choose Series" near the top right.  Your guitar was built in 1975.  Welcome to the group.

And that info is also available here on this site in the FAQ section.

Thank you very much for this information! Unfortunately, in my country there are very few users of Ovation, so it is very difficult to know more about these wonderful guitars.
I'ma fan of Ovation for 30 years and only 3 years ago I acquired my first Ovation Classic (1616).
This week I bought a Custom Balladeer (1612-4), 1975.
The Ovation in Argentina are very very expensive
As you can see, my favorites are those of the '70s and '80s
