Referring to Ovation's on-line catalog of guitars, someone tell me the difference between a C2079LX and a C2079AX.

Right off the bat there's a $1,330 difference in list price. Obviously one is made by Korean or Chinese hands, the other by US hands.

It used to be that the US-made guitar had the CNC neck and neck-to-body joint...while the foreign item had an epoxyed mortice-and-tenon joint. That difference may have disappeared. No way to tell by looking.

I'm fishing for info because, to the average person, there is absolutely no aparent reason to spend $1,330 more for the LX. Someone splane me.

It probably has the dovetail neck... They must be getting that savings from somewhere.
But someone will have to see one in person to check.

So... Once the "Custom" Legends and Elite series have gone to Korea, all the Production Ovations will be imports.

Go get'em Fender!

Just as the Wall Street Journal is referring to Ovations as "among the most popular instruments made in the U.S." in Charlie's obituary Fender is shipping the remaining production overseas. Haven't they heard that wages in Asia are going up?
Maybe they have, and they want production to be near the customers, since unemployed Americans won't be buying them.

Or... You can buy a New USA C2079LX on d'Bay for around $1350.

If you want new, you might wanna get them while they are available.

Hard to believe that the MSRP is $2900 and they are selling brand new on ebay for $1299. At that ratio of discrepancy, the Asian 2079 should be about $500.
