I have used Audacity software for a while now to learn new music. It has two great features -- it can change tempo without changing pitch and it can loop selected sections of the song. Only problem is that it is buggy as hell. I can't complain too much, it is freeware afterall.

Anyway, I end up having to delete all the project files and start from scratch, which is not such a big deal, but gets to be a pita after a while.

So my question is, is there anyone out there that is using a similar piece of software that isn't so full of bugs? Really, those two features are all i need.

Hmmm, anyboby?

This came up before. There are two really good pieces that I use....one is Amazing Slow Downer and the other is Riffster.

ASD seems to get updated more frequently but I can never tell any difference from the updated version to the prior one.

Riffster has a "lite" version that I think is free.

Both work very well and I believe you can download a fully working demo for like 15 days.

Thanks Stephen. Do you have a preference, one over the other? The ASD seems a bit more robust from the descriptions. What i would like is simplicity.

Anyway, just curious, and would welcome your perspective.

Well, I would download the Riffster Lite since it is free and see how that works for you. That might be all you need. If not, but you like the format of the program, then grab the full blown program.

Both of them are very user friendly and easy to operate.
