Location: Austin | I've got a line on a 1968 Deluxe Balladeer. Serial number is in the 2000 range and it has the Grover's, "Deluxe" on the headstock, shiney back bowl, ebony board and original case. Condition is great for its age. What would one expect to have to pay for one of these early Ovations? Thanks for any help. |

Location: Austin | Thanks for the reply Paul. I read in Gruhn's guide that they came with bound ebony boards but this one is unbound. Everything else looks good. It does have some bellying but the action is very playable. I agree that they are some fine playing/sounding instruments. |

Location: SoCal | Ovation started putting binding on the deluxe balladeers in 1970, and by 71 or 72 they were calling them Legends.
The one I'm playing is one of the best sounding guitars I've ever played. I might be getting a bad case of GAS. |
