Any body familiar with these critters? Could you, or would you, leave it on the bridge indefinitely?

I have seen these. a buddy of mine cuts saddles into 3 parts on his keeper acoustics and he uses this gizmo to get the intonation right. I guess it is fine if you never want to change string gauges too drastically. But it begs the questions "how could we have been playing out of tune for so damn long and never know it??"

That would be a tool for the location of the sweet spot and not to function as a saddle on its own.
