Hmmm, interesting thought. Tell you what, you send your 1117 first and we'll see what it looks like. If it comes out good, then I'll send mine.....

Don't be a wuss Paul. Embrace your inner Liberace and take the show to Vegas.

Hey, we've entered OVATION END TIMES. Al D. and his signature have (deservedly?) faded to black and the only other visible guy is Nikki Sixx whose "Herion" concept just seems wrong. The two viable champions stll standing are women (despite our demographic here). Pepto Pink is weird, yes but these epaulettes on the KK signature confuse me:

Any more confusing than regular epaulets?

Flowers? Feathers? Leaves? A gay bouquet?

Mine just looks like a shmear! ;)

So dobro is so worked up about Ovation/Adamas epaulets that he can't sleep and has to post this at 6 AM. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Insomnia is a strange thing.

Actually I rise daily at 5:30. But today the first thing I had to do was deal with my epaulette neurosis. Gotta get me some meds for that. As for the pics above, I see your point and will certainly lose sleep tonight. Damn. What is that thing, a lesion?

Wasn't Epaulette Nuerosis the opening act for Guitars of Fire last year?

Per your earlier comment, is the Al D model history?

No, I think it is still active, but has sort of receded into the shadows. I own one and am impressed by its beauty but not the sound. Somehow it does not live up to the hype. I get more punch out of my old 1117 and, of course, the Adamas 1585.

My AD is my go to acoustic for a gig.

I have the original signature, not the AD II. I wonder how different they are, aside from the obvious preamp.

Good question, Damon. My frank assessment is that, acoustically, MY AD II (never played an original sig) is quite sweet but not much of a canon; rather thin above fret 10 on the high strings. Plugged in... not much luck. For what it's worth our colleague Roman Mirsoshnichenko has steered clear of this axe. When Al D. offered to buy his old modified legend they both agreed that the new axes were inferior. Go figure.... (and YOU helped design it?)

DJ Ashba. My local KMC rep told me his signature guitars are selling very well, especially in the rest of the world.

Mick Thomson. His autograph line at the Ovation display at NAMM was twice as long as Glen Campbell's.

Time are different now.

The female convicts are lining up around the yard for the autographed PEZ model.
