Good morning everybody! I have had four cups of coffee so far, and wow, it sure has put me in a good mood. It's so good to "see" you all this morning. The sun is shining and I'm ready for a beautiful day. :p ;)

Yes, I understand now it's a link to a Cat Stevens/Yusef Islam video of some sort. Haven't looked yet but may later.

It's nice to have a hint.

This is no major dust-up at all IMO geneo. Just a sharing of points-of-view of which some may not have been aware. That's called good and clear communication...something not practiced enough in places like the internet. and real life.

Mr. Fixit to the rescue...

Cat Stevens/Dufus Yesmam babbling about Alfred Hitchcock and so stoned he can\'t complete a sentence or remember that he already introduced the band... until someone offstage tells him to get on with it. At which point he does a pretty good rendition of Peace Train.

Oh my goodness...Ok.

I guess I've been somewhat guilty of being cryptic in my listed link, but not so much in the actual post...

However, I have to admit, I HAVE kind of looked at the listed link as kind of a "marketing hook" to try to pull the reader in. The idea being that he or she then will read the post, and, I hope, respond.

So, I admit, I HAVE tried to be -- being charitable here -- "artful" in my listed links. The less charitable might say "devious" instead of artful.

I stand chastened!

That is a media spun mis-characterization of the events. To correct it would involve the discussion of theology so it will remain uncorrected here.

It's also a grossly unfair and dismissive characterization of his lifes record.

Consider-
The bulk of the proceeds generated from Yusuf's former career as "Cat" are donated to charitable works (over a million and a half annually). He is responsible for feeding and educating tens of thousands each year.

He has been recognized by countless world wide organizations for his unyielding dedication to humanitarian work.

He volunteered to participate in the musical memorial that followed 9/11 (putting himself at personal risk from radical's) and donated much of the sales of the Cat Stevens Box set (newly released at the time) to the families of the 9/11 victims.

It is telling that he was quietly removed from the US "no-fly" list without apology or explanation. Love or hate him but he has been completely consistent in living out his compassionate non-violent philosophy. It's a matter of public record.

I did the same thing and I agree, I like the older version.
