Maybe EVERY textured top adamas looks like this if you take the paint off!

Notice that this isn't a typical "burst" of one color in the middle and another (darker or lighter) color around the edge. This one has been painted red around the edge but is "bare" in the middle. I think if you just had the factory repaint the whole thing a solid color you would not see the defects.

Ovation built these guitars for the overseas market. I've seen them before and they are really wonderful guitars.

With Al citing his expertise, I'm withdrawing from this discussion. While I don't automatically trust the person with the auction, I do trust Al.

This would be "THE" best beach guitar made.

I did get my hands on one of Al's blem's a couple of years ago. Mine looks like milk drops on the blue color. As for feel, sound, it is one of my best. In fact it was bought for my son to take to school. He loves it. I never get to play it anymore. The one Al sold me had the optima and XLR.

If the seller isn't playing hide and seek. Great player for not a lot of money.

$467-Way to go Fugot!

Are you going to send it to the factory for some fixing up?

I talked to Kim. They can put electronics in it. They can't redo the top. Oughta be a decent player, though.

Sorry, I'm all out of Krylon. I did my new HD28VS. It was a little bit of a mess because Martins don't technically have a "hatch" to paint. So I thought I would just remove the strings and reach inside wiht the spray can and paint a white circle about 6 inches diameter to simulate the effect. Unfortunately the braces got in the way and started splattering paint everywhere inside the guitar. So I got out the sabre saw and cut a 6" hole through the back of the guitar. Ever notice how nice rosewood smells when you cut it? Anyway, my calculations were pretty good and I only cut in to three braces. With this new improved access to the inside of the guitar I decided to go aherad and paint the entire inside white. Jeff had commented how his Tak classical was gloss finished on the inside so I thought the krylon might give the same effect. Everything went OK, except I forgot to cover the sound hole and I got a little overshoot out on the face of the guitar near the rosette. I'll have to sand that off. I reattached the wood from the hole I had cut using some velcro strips just temporarily until I figure out how to do a better fix. I restrung her and not surprisingly the sound is definately improved vs. the stock configuration. I really glad I did it. I must admit, however that the guitar is a little freaky to look at when all you see inside the sound hole is white. It's kind of like looking at Julia Roberts smile - a pretty face with a big white hole in the middle of it. Dave

You forgot to show me your workshop when I was there. Or did your wife let you do this in the living room?

Great pickup!
I think it will turn out to be a great guitar for the price.
