We played blues in F# that night...very strange. Presumably because the pentatonic scale in F# on a piano is all the black notes, I believe? That would make it easier to jam for a keyboard, and if he didn't play guitar he may not have realised how odd it is!

It was great to vist with Michael & his incredible collection. We were intending to spend 30 minutes with Michael then go meet the girls for dinner. As we left 2 hours late moody rang his wife and said "Hey honey, we're stuck in traffic" Bear in mind that this man is a PI, would you trust him? Bailey, the Mando is stunning, & yes I do have a mando capo and I'm not afraid to use it. Just noticed, in the pic I appear to be having my leg humped by a stuffed dog, how come Cliff missed that caption opportunity?

I keep bringing up the E flat joke because somewhere in my vast bluegrass collection is a singer who sings in E flat, or they have meddled with his recorded music som it plays in E flat. I visualize him saying "Boys, this is in E flat, and I don't give a shit what you think, I am paying you to play", as the mandolin player reaches for his capo, and the fiddle player bursts into tears. I can't remember who it was, but I do rememember playing with the CD with no open strings and cursing the shithead but loving the challenge of playing a whole song with no open strings, I, being macho, never resorted to a capo, just moved to position 1/2 and played the song, SO THERE!

(Put a SERIOUS dent in the worldwide supply of Myers' Dark Rum - and limes). ;) "It's a Small World Afterall" Incident: Last Monday, the guy who owned the cottage we rented (a very nice Brit chap by the name of Roger Barnsby) drove down the five and half hours from his home in Manchester, CT to prepare the larger, adjacent house on the property for the impending visit from Isabel. After cordial introductions, he mentioned that he noticed the metal Ovation logo affixed to the back of the Cruiser. Evidently, Mr. Barnsby worked as an engineer at KamanAerospace back in the 60's. He related that when the guitar division went into operation, employees could purchase certain guitars at a discount. ". . .What is it? . . a Josh? . . . White? . . . . is that right ??? . . . " By the time I was able to catch my breath, I found out that he no longer had it. Dang! The effects of Hurricane Isabel were pretty much countered by the effects of Hurricane Ambien, which made for a nice long windy (and much needed) nap. Other than that, it was GREAT to enjoy some time with M'Lady, my bike, my 12-string, sun, sand, AWESOME waves, a few absolutely SUMPTUOUS meals, and a small handful of Cubans given to me for the trip. Alas, no visit from Uncle Al :(

This time it took out the hard drvie and the mother board. Well Cliff's phone number was on the hard drive in an e mail and I had no way to get to it, so this time he was spared. I was really looking forward to getting down there and hanging out and enjoying the water. This is my favorite time of the year for the jersey shore. Cliff you should have called me!!!!!!
