Blah, blah, blah. What a fine bunch we are, pat ourselves on the back..... "Those in the back can clap their hands, you in the front can rattle your jewelry."(John Lennon)

"Now, for our next number, I'll need four rolling papers.....don't try this at home kids...."

Thank you again for your generosity. The total is now up to $385.

I'll be speaking to Garey tomorrow and let him know what you have done for him. Thank you.

Regards,

Tom

Al, sorry, I've avoided this but these wankers have pissed me off, this thread needs to be killed just like the last one and for exactly the same reasons.

MJK and Dr Tom. I have no idea who either of you are, nor do I really care. Neither of you have been around here long enough to engender anyones's respect, or interacted on a personal level to warrant my patronage of your situations, genuine or otherwise. Therefore I respectfully suggest that both of you make yourselves conspicuous by your absence and see if anyone actually gives a flying f**K.

And MJK, as an athiest I can assure you that the concept of "heaven" is merely a retarded delusion of your illogical belief systems.

Sorry Al, I got into religion, KILL IT NOW!

There are some wonderfully generous people in this OFC family. I have been the benefactor of peoples kindness, I have contributed to help others, and I have even once instigated a fund raising effort to help one of our own. But it has always been done OUTSIDE THE PUBLIC FORUM.

Helping those in need is what seperates us from the lesser life forms. We should keep up the good work. Just keep it someplace else! This is a musical instrument forum where we sometimes veer off course into mild banter about relegion, politics and anal intercourse. That's fine. I don't write the rules, but my personal opinion is that requests to donate to other causes (good ones, shady ones, or outright scams) should not be posted here.

The problem that arises is where do you draw the line? My local high school is having a fund raiser to paint new lines on the running track. Here's the paypal address. Please donate. See what I mean?

Just my own personal slant in this, but a personal request to help out would have brought me jumping in with both feet. A public request for donations? No way, man.

Dave
