I've read that the Clestion speakers are great in these but I've never actually heard one. The old Jensen is great though, nice fat mids and smooth highs. It's lighter in the low end than a ceramic speaker but that's a fair trade off for me.

Location: NJ | wayne when I got my amp it was a basket case. I had the speaker in another amp and would not be able to get 300 bucks extra just because of the speaker, so I put it in my own amp and I have never looked back.
it is my favorite amp for samll gigs and practices. |

Location: Toronto | Okay - so I admit to knowing very little about amps (I run everything through a PA system). BUT - in my limited experience, it seemed that the smaller the amp - the few the effects, and i/o's. That was a contributing factor in deciding to go with a PA system in my small studio - I wanted effects without having to take up ALL the floor space with a monster combo and a million foot peddles. So, while small is okay - in terms of sound/volumn, it wasn't okay in terms of i/o and effects. Or so it seemed at the time?

Location: Avondale, AZ | I have a Marshall 100watt stack. It started with a an Aims 100 watt tube amp head. I needed a cabinet so I bought the bottom half of the stack. It has four 10 inch speakers same wattage and ohms as the Aims head. After a year or so, I had problems with the head. So I sold it to a tech friend. I replaced it with the Marshall head recommended for my cabinet. It was cost effective to buy the top cabinet of the stack along with the head. I have 2 1/2 acres in the middle of farm country and this thing is too loud for neighbors. I play it low and/or with headphones. I also have a fender frontman 15watts that I carry from friends to friends for jams. It is plenty. However little amps need to be set up off the ground to have the sound mix nearer ear level. All this talk has given me A.A.S. |
