So the bridge on my 1597 SMT is cracked. How do they fix this, does it need a new bridge or can it be repaired (glued ?)

If you are the original owner, and that wasn't caused by misuse, then it should be covered under warranty. Contact the folks at the New Hartford.

I am not the original owner, I bought it from Lost Art Vintage 2 years ago.

I contacted a local luthier and sent him pictures. Obviously he needs to see it to give me a better estimate but he says it should be less than 100$ if he can repair it or 150$ + the price of the new bridge if it must be replaced.

That's not bad.
