Location: boulder | i think tk17 means the 12 fret slothead (4oth) vs the ad-II reissue (30th).
I decided to get a 40th anniversary 12 fret slothead after playing a josh white model (which is a 12 fret, slothead). There is something about the josh white that growls. When I thought about having a new 12 fret slothead with an Adamas top, and all the other advancements since the josh white model. I was hooked.
I mean I think they will both sound really good. I love cutaways and the 12 fret slothead means less frets to easily play on, but I can sound bad with only 10 playable frets just as easy as I can sound bad with a cutaway.
The extra cost might come from the impregnated walnut soundboard and cutaway bracing. I think the walnut fingerboards are the secret to adamas tone, but I need much more time playing to tell. much more. and more adamii too.
