| OK I know we have talked strings to death in here!
So what's a little death anyway right?
I have never in my life bought a set of Acoustic Bass guitar strings.. I want this Ovation Bass I bought to sound as bright as I can make it! So I know I want the round wounds but that is all I think I know?
Can someone here tell me the difference between the electric & acoustic versions of Bass strings?
Is there a tension difference? Etc. Etc.
Difference between Bronze or Nickel? I know this is along the same lines as the difference between Acoustic & Electric guitar strings but I thought this may be a good thread to get into specifically for Bass strings.
Thanks Randy |

Location: 6 String Ranch | Bronze or brass are better if it is just an acoustic or piezo pickup. If it's a combo use mickle of stainless. Guage is up to you. |

| Acousticore strings from Thomastic-Infeld ! Nylon Core Great Booming sound.....lighter gauge..... bright high notes and less tension for your acoustic bass! You'll love em!
These were expensive as a 5 string set but I am sure there must be other string manufacturers out there that make the bronze wound, nylon core bass strings for the Piezo pickups and acoustic bodies.
