About a month ago, I was asking if anyone knew about the OVATION CSAT47-VS Celebrity Arch Top. No one on the board heard of it. I called Ovation directly and asked them. They said it was on the 2005 price list, but did not have any information on it. I've always been intrigued with archtops, and I briefly owned the Millennium Celebrity archtop, and liked it. I found this guitar at www.guitartrader.com for a great price, and I couldn't resist. It arrived today, and I couldn't be happier with it. It turns out that it has a solid spruce top. It comes with a vintage sunburst finish and the OP-30 preamp. Great guitar, and for the price, highly recommended.

Congratulations! I had heard of the CSAT47, and saw a picture or two on the internet (nice looking sunburst), but that was about it. I had never seen one up close. How does it compare to a regular Celebrity Deluxe?

It's most like the CS-247 Celebrity Deluxe in that it's a mid-depth bowl, except this top is slightly arched. It also seems to have a slightly different sound and feel from the 247s I tried. Maybe because of the solid top. The vintage sunburst on the top and headstock gives it a real classy look. The OP-30 preamp sounds great and the built-in tuner works well. They sent me the truss rod adjustment wrenches as well. Great deal!
