Location: Upper Left USA | I have touched on this before but I am hopeful that some of the new members and maybe some of the O Historians might be able to chime in.
These are the Custom ordered Ovation Solid body Deacons made for Jim Messina (Miles Collection) and the one owned by Jim Rickard (Samova's), an Ovation Founding Father/Designer.
I believe that the pick guards material came from the same batch of Walnut veneer.
Is there any additional history on these instruments?
Are there other ‘O’fficial wood P/G solids out there? |

Location: Phoenix AZ | Hey Woodrow - Just go to the family room. You know that bad looking wood paneling you have? Almost an unlimited supply of pickguard stock, if you ask me. Dave |

Location: Upper Left USA | I was curious why I never made it to your "friends" section of your ovationgallery. Now I understand!
May I suggest a new link titled "Friends that did something I wouldn't do"!
For the benefit of future historians that are delving the archives of the OFC for items of significance, uniqueness and character, my Deacon 12, Preacher Deluxe and Moody's GFKAV all come with a slice of the same tree.
When they dig this up I hope they 'get a wood'! |
