Having trouble finding a good Mandolin stand? Try this:

As you can see, I made it from a Hurculese Guitar Stand. It's easy to do and works great.

What did you do to the stand to make it work?

Hi Steve:

Mandolin Stand Steps:
1) Pull out the tube (the one that the grippers are attached to) and cut about 10 inches off the bottom.
2)Remove the plastic height adjuster on the base. I did this by clamping the plastic part in a vise and twisting the tube out.
3)Glue the shortened tube into the base. This prevents it from swiveling around inadvertantly. I used a polyurethane adhesive that expands to fill gaps. I also squeezed the tubes with a C clamp so they wouldn't move while the glue cured.
4) That's it. The whole process takes only about 15 minutes (except the glue takes 24 hrs to cure) and you end up with a great mandolin stand.
