I just want to encourage you all to take some time and go play/sing/dance/whatever at a local Convalescent Home. The residents will truly appreciate ANYTHING you can offer and it's one of the best gigs going!
Contact the Activities Director and either perform solo or with a group.
Can't think of a better gift than sharing yourself with others who are so often forgotten.
It's an easy "room" to play and the audience is great!
Another way to help is to offer to play at Hospitals. Most of them encourage "roving" singing bands.... especially in the Kid's Wards....
Just do it!
p.s. remember that in just a few more years, the "oldies" being played at Rest Homes will be "Stairway" and "Smoke On The Water"!!! :D |

Thanks for the reminder. I got to a assisted living center once a month. In 2009 I'm going to add at least one or two more. |
