Location: Ft. Lauderdale, Florida | Saw ad on tv @ www.CatStevensGold.com selling a 2 cd set... no big deal...
What caught my eye was a new song, (Indian Ocean) I thought he got rid of all his guitars in his new life in Islam... (Maybe an old take that was never published ???) So..
I sent an email to the site asking if Cat Stevens or Uri what ever his NEW name was was getting any of the proceeds... from this sale...
They said I had to contact TOT (Tales of Trash) record label and ask them... Search engines turned up that label a few times but no contact info...

Location: Tennessee | Yusef Islam (his adopted name) has made several new albums over the years, but all directed for followers of Islam. I think the proceeds go into his foundation. He also regularly travels to Mosques supporting Muslim causes and fund raising; one of my business partners is a Muslim and has spent time with him. "A Very Peaceful Guy" is how he desribes him, and Yusef did play and sing when they were together. |

Location: Warwick, RI | Cat Stevens was a prime reason I ever picked up a guitar, back in the early 70's. He sounded simple enough that I could actually learn to play. His rhythm playing still sounds great--basic, clean, and tasty. I know it's only light rock, but I like it, like it, yes I do!
