CC44 Epaulets, raw wood, finish?

I am getting close to the time to change strings on my new Celebrity.
At that time, I will oil the fretboard, and the bridge. (Did that to all my others...)

The epaulets on this thing have no finish on them, as far as I can tell. Just feel like dry, unfinished wood. (yeah, they got color, just no shiny stuff)

I was thinking of hitting them with the Lemon Oil when I do the frets.

Any opinions, advice, warnings?
Educate me...

Edit-- I might add that the fret-board wood looks a tad dry... My Chinese GC057 looked the same when I got it. Is rosewood supposed to be tan? (well not quite Tan, but y'know, dry looking) Is this a problem due to shoddy labor/set-up?

I always oil the epaulets on my guitars when I oil the fretboard - as well as the necks. Til now nothing terrible happenend.
