I don't know how I didn't notice it before, but when I popped off the strap from my black Ovation Tangent to use on my blue Tangent, I found the strap button near the neck has gotten super loose. Unfamiliar with these I started to tighten it... and just found it was already tight. (Didn't break anything whew)

So I looked inside, and I see its connected to some contraption that's got like 3 arms sticking out. I'm able to get my fingers on it, so I figured it might be a nut that I could tighten, but it also is tight. So everything feels well connected, but its still wobbly.

I found this thread:

and it makes me think, maybe my "molly" is broken? I can turn a nut on a bolt, but if I get much past that, in truth I'm not very handy.

Your molly may, in fact, be stripped. If that's the case, you probably need another screw AND put a nut on it from the inside. I don't think attempting to remove the present molly is a great idea, unless you have an experienced luthier in your hip pocket.
Another thought would be to re-tap the molly with fresh threads and put in a bigger screw, if your strap button will accommodate it.

Thanks for your advice. I reached out to Guitar Center and I'm going to let their tech figure it out I think. It feels like I might regret it if I screw around too much, since I don't know what I'm doing. lol I'll ask them to tell me what they did though and post it back here.

I like this axe too much to break it. :D
