I have large concern that Fender will do to Ovation
the same thing they did with Guild.
Come in and within 48 monthes close the plant,
let all employees go and relocate.

To be honest Ovations craftmanship is better than Fender's. Most noticably necks and fret work.
Ovations USA fret work is better than Fender Custom Shop.
Plus thier customer service is secound to none.
I do not want to lose that.

I intend to write Fender and tell them how I feel about Ovation.

You might be right.
And there is nothing wrong about writing a letter.
But I gotta think that comparing Ovation to Guild is an apples to oranges thing. Ovation / Adamas is a much bigger piece-o-pie.

I'm not so sure.
The excuse for closing Westerly was the out dated factory. Note they had no intention of moving to a new facility in Rhode Island.
Living in New England I know they could have easily found a new facility in the area.
They didn't. The closed the factory leaving the skilled work force unemployed. Much of the production was shipped to China.
Maybe they will leave it here as an East Coast operation but I am far from confidaint they will do that.
