The one on evilBay from Marilyn9500 in the USA.
She only sell factory rejects and open box items.
The one on Reverb is also a Factory Reject.
Way back when Fender first bought Ovation and moved manufacture Asia...
They were selling Reject 1778TX and CC54i iDea guitars before you could buy NEW ones online or in the stores.
Judging by the number of "USED" and B-Stock and 2nd's, these factories seem to screw-up A LOT of guitars and just sell them by the container-load to "refurbishers"
A New AE44 sells for $349 at Musicians Friend.
They also seem to have an interesting preamp...
It is NOT an OP4BT, but a square version.

Location: Yokohama, Japan | Thanks for the response OMA! That's really interesting how the refurbs are allowed to hit market 1st! I've never had any urge or inkling of an urge to own an Applause in the past...no offense, just not interested; but with the new look and model distinction, I'm seriously interested in getting one! It won't be soon, but I suspect in an year or two, I'll be in the hunt for a new AE44II. Gonna skip these for sure! |
