| Paul, or any of you guy's that seem to know the electronics better than anyone I know???
I am in a serious project that is turning into something I had hoped for for years. I am in it up to my eyballs now singing all the classic prog you can imagine. I have been using a cheap set of ear monitors from Nady they did work and do help but they are no longer cutting the mustard with the volumes and the intricate music that is always crossing the room and the complicated vocals I need to be "right-on" for, like... Anderson, Gabriel, Waters, Wetton, Fripp, Lee. etc. I have been waiting for an answer about this from our sound guy who's company is now the 6th equal member of the group but I wanted to ask in here as well. You guy's are such a wealth of knowledge when your upright!
I need a professional system where I can hear myself as well as a low level of the instruments and four other vocals will need to hear themselves for the harmony work.... plus if the sound tech wants to speak to me or anyone he can.
I know there are super systems out there and I do expect to spend a few dollars but I am wondering if one of you guy's can tell me who's system is the best "Bang for the Buck" kinda deal.
As always Thanks in advance.
By the way the twin fender speaker cabs I built are Killer ! Love the true Stereo, and nice low end now. |

As I myself do not ( like to /need to ) use In-ear`s , I can only repeat what the lad`s overhere say , which is :
Wanna make SURE , get SHURE.
.. personally an AKG and SENNHEISER man myself ..
Vic
.. over in the US that brand SHURE makes sense , perhaps AL can cut ya a deal .. |

Location: Orange County, California | I've got a Shure PSM-200 system I use with Ultimate Ears buds. This gives me 20+db of isolation, and let's me hear everything coming through at VERY tolerable volume levels.
I can have two channels sent wirelessly(mic and monitor), and plug the 1/4" from my guitar into the bodypack (I use the XLR out of my guitar directly to the board).
Seriously, the easiest thing is to just put the Transmixer at the board, and let my sound guy "build" me a monitor mix. But I have just passed the monitor returns through it on stage, and put my guitar through the other channel.
If you need more inputs, or flexibility you should look into the PSM 400. |
