Location: GA USA | You know of the free beginner's guitar class I teach. There is one young lady who came in the first week with one of the "toy" First Act guitars, very small, and hot pink. No good at all for playing, and her parents recognized that fact, so they got her another guitar.
She came in Saturday with her aunt's $100 pawn shop guitar, a Nouveau by Gibson. Is what I'm seeing on the 'net right, that there were only 139 made and the value is a couple grand? It looks to be in great shape, and it sounds good too. |

Location: Scotland | "Noveau by Gibson" was kinda like "Celebrity By Ovation" They were an import line (either Jap or Korean) of mostly flat-tops and a few solidbodies and archtop jazzers marketed under the Epiphone name. Decent enough guitars for what they were, but not worth much more than she paid. Rarity alone does not add value, and in this case, while they are not common, there were a lot more than 139 of any model prodused |

Location: GA USA | Thanks Paul. I was hoping you'd chime in on this one. I figured that since the "expert" on the internet was trying to sell his for $2000, his claims might be inflated.
But I tell you what... It sounded good and had a nice bass to it. If I see one for $100, I might have to snag it. |
