Location: seattle, wa | I have just recieved my new old Ovation 1674 nylon string. While I have had a 1113-4 and miss it greatly, I have never had one with a pick-up.
Is there a battery inside? The p/u works fine but I don't really know much about it. There is a single double knob for volume and bass/treble.
any tips you can share? |

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | If there is no obvious battery-box, look for a slotted screw-head on the side.
If it has one of them, it is not really a screw...
It turns 90° to release the battery box inside.
But look inside for a battery or box.
Way-back-when I had a two-knob CC57 which didn't need a battery...
But I have a 1612 with a single knob, and that battery-box in inside.
On my 1612 the box is held-in with the screw-thingy...
the lid of the box slides off once you get it out the sound hole.
But I also had a 1621 with stacked-knobs and that the battery was held-in with a big clip and had no box cover.
It still had the screw-thingy, but you could change the battery without removing the box.
(but you still had to remove, or really loosen, the strings)
So... You will have to look inside. |

The box w/ the slide cover, gives me fits.
Of course, I'm off my meds. |
