Location: UK | I've owned a Matrix for a good few years now and I've recently been trying to find out more about it. It hasa rosewood fingerboard with proper frets so i suppose it must be a later model it also has no reference to Ovation anywhere. The model number is also not one that anyone else has listed on the board (as far as I can see) it's 1137 not 2 like most peoples seems to be the serial number is 006377.
I be grateful of any info members could help me with - Thanks

Location: Scotland | I seem to remember the last batch of the Matrix had rosewood 'boards & real frets just before they were discontinued & replaced by the 1311/1511 Ultra. The serial number should put the guitar sometime in the early 80's, but the one you quoted is much earlier. |

Location: UK | I've just checked the serial no and it is as I quoted it's on a Silver coloured sticker that is stuck onto the Black Kaman made in Connecticut label which has the model number on it. Does the plot thicken? Anyway its a guitar I just can't put down as it has more acoustic punch than my Balladeer and its better than my recently acquired Takamine which on reflection was a waste of money.
