I have an ultra gs that i would like to identify. I don't know the year or anything. The serial number is 011696. any help would be appreciated.

perhaps you can use the help of ovationguitars.com
there is a validation function for serial codes. but probably it'd be manufactured in the mid 80's

There is a lot of info on the Ultra GS here, just do a search. Also I have some info, including the years of manufacture at my Solidbody and Storm Collection site.

The serial number is not useful on the import models. The GS was assembled in the USA, but the serial numbers were just assigned from who-knows-where.
