In the capitol district we got 8 inches of rain in August before the storm, then 5-10 inches during the storm, depending where you lived. Ain't been this much rain in a month since they've been keeping records in the 1820's, and I'll bet since the coming of the dutch. Sump pumps in basement worked harder than ever. Hudson, Mohawk and Erie canal were swollen. If you lived in a flood plain you were flooded. Neighbor's tree fell on my fence, but no injury to house. Lot's people in the hudson valley still without power. I took a look at the hudson yesterday and it was like the zambezi, brown and filthy with trees and parts of houses floating by, and some really confused ducks heading to NYC

Not from Irene but Lee dumped over 8 inches of rain on us in middle Tennessee...but we also went from circa 100 degree temps to mid 60's last two days and 75 degrees today w/partly sunny skies. We had not had any rain since late July so we were glad to see it. Lets hope our Texas friends get some rain soon...

A big +1 to that... Still no rain in sight, we were actually hoping Lee would turn our way..
