Wow! What a guitar!

I was lucky enough to get this off Aussie eBay. It needed a few minor repairs, which I did.

I've gigged with it three times now, and each time was complimented on how nice it sounds.

So far, I would have to say it's the best sounding guitar I've ever played - both acoustically and plugged in. It will be great to compare it to TAFKAR's '08C next time we get together.

I'm glad you didn't!

It was incorrectly listed as a 1861, but included the photo of the label, which caught my interest.

Wouldn't have bid anyway, I'm a bit short at the moment and still owe AJ money - then he went and sold the 47RI (sob sob!).

Yeah. My finances have taken a hit with the VXT and Ute in a few weeks.

But I couldn't resist either of them.

Good snags though. Utes are great guitars, and I'm enjoying the VXT that is 30% mine.

Unless there is a quiet fanatic out there, you now own the second most number of Ovations in Australia!

It'll be great when I learn how to play them!

I did a short opening set at a local folk society gig last night, and felt pretty good about it - until a couple of the later acts did their sets. I need to practice more.

There's always someone better. I'll have to bring the 1680 down to do a side-by-side with the Ute. Both 12 fret, deep-bowls, different tops.

Hey Nancy.

I was doing some work on my Ute during a string change and a Magpie came and helped out.

When he jumped up to help me, I was actually working on the guitar. He was so close to me, I could have touched him.

I stepped back to take the photos.

You have to get out of the Nancave once in a while for some fresh air. They are abundant here a few hours north of Minnesota so you should have them in your neighbourhood too. And they like to steal shiny things, so Banjo I hope you took inventory of your gear after the visit.

Nope, no Magpies here - I know they are out West, but none here! We have tons of Crows, but no Magpies.
I Love Birds, I have 10 here of my own, Cockatoo, African Grey, Conure, and 7 Cockatiels. And I feed about 50 lbs of bird, squirrel, turkey and deer food here a week. Hummingbirds, Orioles food, and the suet for the Woodpeckers! I justify it as my Entertainment Fund!

We get Crows and Magpies and up in the woods we see Jays that are partially blew that we seem to just call Robber Jays. I don't know what the real name is, but they were very clever at stealing dog food out of a bowl right next to a sleeping dog last week. She was all tired out from chasing squirrels, deer and a fox and missed the real thieves.
