Ok, so there are a few of us that never caught the Bubigna bug but, in fairness, if you're going to listen to Bob you should check out his selection of shirts first. His is an, um, an ACQUIRED taste... At the end of the day? Chocolate vs Strawberry...just like a lot of things, even when it's bad, it's still pretty damn good.

They're slipping me one (or three) too many and then have fun "testing" me. I'm convinced that there's probably at least one more cast in my very near future... Bob, some DO love your taste in clothes. Lady Gaga, Steven Tyler, Liberace...ok, maybe the "taste" is a little strong for Liberace but who knows? On any given Friday night... Ok, I believe the topic at hand was station wagon panels...

Actual topic was Bubinga tops,I have a 99 collectors w the waterfall bubinga top, my understanding of the design is what they call a panel-master top where they sandwich two layers of bubinga around a core like they do for the Adamas 1597.Visually bubinga is gorgeous, sonically its a very hard wood so it can be a little bright but I think it has a very articulate tone and depending on your playing style can be a very good top.Your S868 might be a laminate or a sandwich, look inside the manhole cover and if you can see the bubinga grain then its probably a sandwich.

You're the second person who tells me about the 99 collectors and that maybe, this S868 is a "reissue" of that 99 Collectors. Funny how panel master was started as a derogatory term and has become accepted as the norm. Having said that it is a term that works well. Do they do station wagons like that anymore?
