Location: Scotland | Several models over the years. Probably the most common are 1616 Concert Classic, 1613 Classic, 1624 Country Artist, and their later cutaway versions. As far as I'm aware the only current nylon model is the 1773LX Classic and there's also a Nylon Viper. As for recommendations, they're all good, depends on what you intend to do with it. The usual variables apply; bowl depth, nut width, some are spruce tops some are cedar. None are particularly great classical guitars in the true sense, but that's not really the point. |

Location: Scotland | That's the cutaway version of the 1613 and is a great instrument if you can cope with the 2" nut width. Starting bid is a fair price by European standards. |

I was wrong about the LX classic being the only current nylon model There's also the updated versions of the CA, now called just "Artist" rather than "Country Artist" which has a nut width of 1-3/4" |

| I have a 1763 in the basic Black. Like most classical guitars the neck is pretty wide but I have large hands and am used to it now. I am also not quite sure exactly what wood the top is made of but after hearing several others and owning a few classical Ovations in the past I am fairly confident mine has a Cedar top. I can tell you I will never sell this one or at least never be without a 1763.
These classicals from Ovation are (like most of their guitars) at their "Acoustic Best" with a deep bowl behind the top.

Location: Boise, Idaho | The 1713 and 1763s have cedar tops. The 1613s and 1663s have "Spanish Pine" tops. We had a discussion of the difference a few years ago and found out there really wasn't any. Spanish pine is just another term for cedar, or maybe a type of cedar. Don't know why they distinguished the two. They also have 12 fret necks, so are much more of a classical style, except for the big bowl, which results in a booming sound for a nylon string. I happen to like that. The flat fretboard makes barre chords a little difficult, as with all classical guitars.
The 1624s have spruce tops, artist depth bowls, and sound a bit small compared to the 1713s. One of each is always a good compromise. |

The CA-lx is a SERIOUSLY nice all-around nylon. And reasonably unique looking even by Ovation standards.
However, since it's Dweezil that's asking, didn't I see a custom nylon with epaulettes somewhere on this forum? His toothy little pet prefers not to swim through soundholes. :p :rolleyes:  |

Location: Parrish, FL | I've now got the git pictured in Patches post. VERY Nice! It has been the guitar out on the stand for easy access since it came to the house. Great to pick up and noodle around on when the mood strikes.
I'd consider letting it go since this 'no job' thing is getting a bit long winded and the $$ are getting tight. It would be missed though. Drop me a PM if interested.

Location: Bay Area, CA | I have an early 1624-4 Country Artist from the way-back-when days. Love it. For a time, I had a 6773, but it lacked the warm tone of the original. I have a 1778LX Elite, and the LX models really took a jump in tone, as good or better than my 1972 1111-4. So I was considering a nylon LX. What is the difference between the 6773LX and 1773LX? |

Mike Lobosco did an ADII OP-Pro upgrade on a 1613 that I had, and with the boost, xlr, and some extra-hard composites on it it was an absolute cannon plugged-in or unplugged...hand-laid glass bowl and all...
someone here still has that one.. I'm not sure but I think it's TRMcoy..

I had the one-off 1985 ssb elite classical made for Larry Gatlin which was pearl white with abalone binding and a walnut fretboard like the 85 collectors on it.. it had a broken neck joint when I bought it, and the wizards in New Hartford worked their usual magic.
it's in the UK now.
I think Kim Keller has one or two Elite Classicals as well.
