Wow! Post a clip when you get one. I just recorded a few tunes with Jeff B. on my new Zoom H4. Don't know what I'm doing but it's an amazing LITTLE thing! One complaint is that some things are NOT in the manual and I found answers, go figure, on a YouTube review !

Those toneport2 are pretty nice for the money and riffworks is not a bad software program. I have the "official" riffworks package that works with any interface vs the line6 version but have only played with it a bit. Has some nice features.

Just make sure you don't have to pay a monthly fee like a lot of line6 products.

Paul, it is an audio interface that is marketed by Line6 called toneport. They have a 1 input and 2 input version (Brad's pic is the 2 port version).

I just bought a brand new 32 channel Korg recording station (D3200) which includes disc mastering, 8 xlr inputs, built-in digital effects, and all the normal bells and whistles for under a grand. I thought about outfitting my iMac for the job but ended up figuring out it would have cost me 3 times that much to get to the same place.

It seems simple to use.
I printed out the manual. I'll give it a read over the weekend.

Brad - I just got into the LinePort UX1 (weeks ago). That's the same unit only with a single input for the git and one for the mic. Playing around with Gearbox and LiveLite but I'm thinking that I'm liking Reaper instead of LiveLite. Let me know if I can help you out at all with the initial setup.

Then, I'm afraid I'll be all but useless...(but you're welcome to anything I've picked up anyway).

Just magical. Ok, not quite magical but I'm still accumulating all the stuff I really wasn't giving much thouyght to and didn't have - a mic stand/boom, mic clips, a few more patch cords, etc. It's all coming together and I've recorded a few little things so I know it'll be fun once I get setup the way a true rock star needs it setup but, it's just not all together yet.

Brad, John's been a great help to me too but you can use 'em too - I'm ok with that. ;)

I've got a TonePort UX2 sitting around. Let me know if anybody wants to take it for a spin. It has 1/4" and XLR inputs, phantom power, level meters, amp/cab/pedal simulation. works with garageband and I'm sure other apps. Brad, wasn't sure if you were saying you bought one or you're interested. If you're interested, you're first in line.

The UX2 has phantom power? Guess that's another difference between 1 and 2. I picked up a couple of used condensers but have to run them through a small mixer before I get to the UX1 for that reason.

You're supposed to READ the manual?? I thought they were an extra thing to fix a wobbly table.

<head hung in shame>

I'm really sorry, Paul. We were crazy busy most of the time trying to see Disneyland, CA Adventure, Legoland and Universal, and the two days we were at the hotel I was taking care of Karen, trying to keep her cold from turning into something worse.
If I had been thinking straight I would have called and taken you out to dinner. As it was we were at the mercy of ART, and didn't know where anything was.
