Saw that... really like the inlays.....Wonder how the woven top sounds compared to the textured tops?? Bet it's close. Nice guitar... I am out of the running for now or I'd have jumped in. Lots of interest though...you'll do quite well I am thinking

"Lots of interest though..."

I'm guilty for probably 10% of those hits!

It's a gorgeous thing. I'm trying to decide if I should bail on getting the LX and do this one instead.

I'm a real junkie for wanting to own the unique stuff.

Sally - who's thinking it's too bad I can't find it in myself to collect teapots or cookie jars instead of having these G.A.S. tendencies. :)

Sally,

This is not only one of the most striking guitars I've ever seen, they have a beautiful voice. MEII is the closest thing I've heard to it. IF you've played one of those, you know how "magical" they can sound. This one is DEAD MINT, and I can vouch for the guy selling it, and the guy who listed it for him. You go ahead and bid on it. I doubt you'll get a chance like this again. but be prepared. I think it will take a litte run at the end of the auction

This is not a 2000 Collector's model. It is a collectible guitar that was made for the year 2000. It is not one of the Collector's series.

Now I am really confused ??? . Is there a collectors CB-Mill millenium model ? I own one and I thought that they were a special collectors item and that is why only 75 of them were made . Are there more than that out there that are reissues or something like that ? I thought that I owned one of only 75 of these made and that would make them a collectible . Anymore info on these guitars would help me sleep better tonight . Thanks GWB

There are many "special edition" guitars which are definately "collectors guitars", meaning that they are sought out by Ovation collectors. The Millenium is one of these. And it happend to be made in the year 2000.

There is also an annual "Collectors Series Guitar". There was one in 2000 just like almost all other years 1982 and onwards. The 2000 Collectors Series Guitar and the Millenium and TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT GUITARS.

There is only one type of Millenium guitar and it is a "collectable" guitar, but it is not the 2000 Collectors Series guitar.

A similar situation exists in 1996. There is the Book Elite 30th Anniversary guitar which is a very collectable guitar, and there is the 1996 Collectors Series Guitar. Two different instruments.

Yes, the Mill-CB is the Millenium. Yes, it is a collectable guitar. Yes, there were only 75 of them made. Yes, it was made in/around the year 2000.

No, it is not a 2000 Collector's edition. Every year Ovation produces a Collectors model that changes year to year. Every year they make about 500-750 of them. They made a 2000 Collectors model. The Mill-CB is not one of them.

Tuppy has a website showing the collectors models.

I have no idea what an ipaq is, but if it's anything like an icepack I hope the swelling goes down soon. Dave

Ipaq is a handheld PDA/computer. I'm not at my computer so I have to type with a stylus. One letter at a time.

ttenn , would you consider this guitar in new condition ? A museum peice ? How is the action set on it ? I am having some slight gas pains looking at it and I am thinking of collecting all 75 of them for myself ( Hah ) and corner the market on them.
Lets see if I get this one & your Millenium I would only have to get 72 more to complete my mission .
Would you consider this guitar a good enough one to put away and sell it as mint condition in a few years ? Are there any pick scratches that you see ? Oh boy if my OL"Lady finds out about this I am going to be in another pile of Shi%^%*&&$ . Thanks ttenn,,, I will be watching..GWB

Yes, this guitar is mint. I see no scratches at all. Setup is great.

You wont get all of them unless my wife sells you mine at my estate auction. :D

GWB,

Like I said to Sally: I know the owner and the seller. DEAD MINT. Perfect in every way. You won't find one in better condition. I can relate to you nd you wanting to act like Daffy Duck hoarding them all, screaming "Mine Mine Mine!! They're ALL Mine!!"

I will be amazed if it closes for less than $2K.

Over 900 hits and few early bottom-feeder bids lead me to believe there will be a run for it at the end.

The Millennium isn't a collector guitar...it is a player. However, the value is increasing nicely.

Several of them sold for $2,500 last year.

The top bidder has bought a Deacon and an Ovation tuner . I hope he/she wins, and joins the OFC!!

Winning bidder paid almost immediately. Shortly afterward, I heard that someone (not me) was sending out second-chance offers on this item. Somebody is trying to scam someone! I emailed a few bidders to let them know. I hope nobody gets taken.

ttenn,
Contact e-bay and let them know. Change your password also. About two years ago I started getting e-mails concerning items that I had on sale at ebay. I have never sold anything on ebay.
Bids started showing up in my profile that I had not placed. This should have caused me to be more concerned but I let it go. I was lucky enough that it didn't cause anymore problems.

They weren't from my account. Somebody just spoofed an email with my username. I imagine that it directed them to a Paypal-looking site that allowed the person to get the Paypal passwords.

I'm gonna change the passwords anyway. I do on a regular basis.
