Joined: January 2005 Posts: 640 Location: boulder | thought I would offer this here first, Have you been jonesing for a solid bearclaw spruce top, New Yorker size A/E? with solid KOA sides and back....??? ah, then what a lucky day. :) Wait! Want to buy a limited edition guitar as well, bless me stars-the irish eyes are smiling on you, kind string picker... An essentially brand new takamine ef417s koa, with warranty card still. I bought this recently, but found a deal on something else yesterday if I can afford it. Already have the ef75s , so without further ado... a/e -(1/4" connector built into strap connector.-you know what i mean). Original hard shell case included. This Takamine is dying to sing, and it won't at my house for a while. You can tell this is going to be an even better guitar as it gets played. Already produces sweet rich harmonics. It sounds alot larger then it is. (super easy to play while sitting.) I would call it the little brother of the ef75s model, same attention to detail, same great wood tone. (1/2 the price) The ef75s is richer still then this SOLID KOA sided ax, but the Koa/bearclaw sustains and sustains. Maybe I would describe it as the koa is lighter, then the brazilian, but both sing. At least this Koa does. Very, very balanced, with very clear string separation. The preamp is the new TLD line driver preamp. You just plug in and play, and it sounds just as good as acoustically-nice and clean-except louder! Maybe, maybe only 2 hours max of playing on this little monster tone machine. I got a good price and I am passing it along. paypal/ US postal money order ok. shipping is $50 USa for 2-3 day priority with insurance, overseas is possible just pm and we will figure it out. really looks better then my lame skills can photograph. link to 417s koa site http://www.takamine.com/?fa=detail&mid=1986&sid=67 $1645 Really.

Joined: January 2005 Posts: 4903 Location: Phoenix AZ | This is the SECOND 417s offered up on this board in just this week. Some pretty sweet instruments changing hands 'round here. I understand the first one is off the market ;) so good luck with the sale. Btw, that's correct that Springsteen is touring with a 417s right now, plus using two other Taks on stage. They're making some exceptionally good electronics these days. I can attest for how nice the 417s is. I had the chance to play one at my favorite dealers. I should have bought it. Well, in hind sight ... I've got a very similar instrument (00 body size, spruce top, koa back and sides) and the sound really is nice. It has the same general sound as a usual spruce top, but the koa b/s seem to add a much more pronounced ring and sustain than typical mahog or r/w. Hard to describe but incredibly nice sounding. Someone will be very fortunate to aquire this one. A week ago it would have been me. Dave
