He doesn't need some top of the line model like a Custom Legend but wants something pretty decent and it has to have a case. I told him it would be pretty easy to find something here and I'd put the word out for him. I'd like to find him something in good shape (no finish cracks, bad chips, etc.) preferably with electronics (for later, again doesn't need to be top of the line) and USA made only. He prefers the open sound hole as opposed to the elites and wants to spend under/around $400. I will be showing him some O's tonight so he can get a feel for colors and cut-a-way/non cut-a-way. I'd much rather have him get something from a member so: he doesn't take a chance on getting screwed over on E-Bay, to keep the money "in-House",and we'll get a new member out of it too. If you have anything you might want to look at selling or have a line on something new that falls in the price range or close to it, please shoot me a p.m. He doesn't want it sent here but rather to his Mom's in TN so it'll be waiting for him when he gets home so there won't be any big shipping hassles for the seller.

You may even be able to work out a payment plan and end up with a fantastic guitar. Since he's deployed and not needing to have it in his hands right away, that may work out in his favor.

He said he can wiggle the price up a bit too. I showed him all the Collector's Series guitars and showed him some different finishes on the E-Bay pages. He says he likes the Elites just as much as the round holes, prefers darker finishes, like black, and bursts over natural finishes. Like I said, I'd much prefer him finding something here from reputable, known folks as opposed to chancing it on the Bay.

I've never even picked up a non-US made Ovation, didn't have the remotest desire to do so. Realistically, should he even consider a Celebrity?

But in my opinion, with some of the great deals out here today, it's a lot better to spend your hard earned money on something that will have a good resale value, and I would put my money on US built. Why buy a Volkswagon when you can have a Mercedes for the same money. I'd rather have a slightly used Mercedes than a new Volkswagon. There are some really good deals available on the board right now.

Hope you find him a keeper. And please tell him thank you. I was a contractor in Iraq for 4 years so I know it's not an easy place to be. Respect to military past and present.

I will sell it for $650 which includes shipping. I know this is more than what your buddy is looking for but it is a nice guitar and something he would be proud to own. Don't have pictures right now but if you PM me an e-mail address I'll send some to you.

Then when I got ready to plunk down some serious coin on a "better" 6 string BAM now I got a pretty good 12 string. I waited way too long to by my 12 string would hate to see it happen to anybody else who like guitars.

I can look into it for him and take care of the pick up & shipping as the guy say's local only. http://hartford.craigslist.org/msg/1514305661.html http://www.ovationguitars.com/index.cfm?fa=detail2&mid=1236 I just sent an E-mail to check if he still has it.
