My dad's a retired hospital administrator who asked once why I didn't want to go to med school. I told him I heard him cuss doctors his whole life. He probably cusses lawyers too.

Besides addressing the students' educational concerns, I too have to deal with their health issues and impairments. Does that count? With the exception of the blind and hearing impaired, I pretty much taught them all. I had my early experiences with individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Today, the students that I provide my services to have diverse needs, which includes dyslexia, ADD/ADHD, MR, speech and language delays, learning disorders, behavior and emotional disorders, and most recently autism (ASD), Down Syndrome, and multiple disabilities. BTW, my wife is an RN in a PACU unit. I've never been to the unit where she works, but all I know is that it's where patients recover from their surgery(ies) and/or operation(s).
