It was a short meeting as he's heading south and my neck of the woods is a convenient resting point. Met him in Macca's carpark out on the highway, about 15 minutes from my place. He didn't have room for his guitar but I took mine to introduce it to a fellow OFC'er. He still had another eight hours of driving in front of him. Great to meet you and Marlene, mate...and Louie, the dog. Have a safe trip and enjoy the Xmas/New Year break. Hope the traffic isn't too bad out there. It's made me even more eager for an '09 gathering.

Trip down was uneventful, but the two Deputies who stopped me in Nevada on the way back really gave the guitar the once over. They stood on each side, right behind the doors, looking in the windows and talking to each other about what it was before they figured out it was a guitar. I suppose they didn't think that I could hear them through the cloth top of the convertible.

My previous convertible was a VW bug, which had about an inch of insulation in the middle and a glass window. This one has one layer and a plastic window.
