Just in, thanks to Gulfcoast! My newest addition.

Mmmm, wide neck, yummy....

I haven't had time to change strings and do any beautifying yet, but I had to take a couple of quick snapshots.

I've got a buddy in Kansas City who plays a lefty version of that guitar. He's played Ovations for 30 years and says that the Folklore is "the one".

Congrats!

Damon, if you don't bring that and your camera to Miles on the 4th, I'm going to borrow or steal a car and hunt you down. I thought about threatening to steal your guitar and camera, but decided we'll need you there personally to take pictures. I really would like to spend some time with that guitar. Beautiful.

I love the rosette and the fretboard inlay - the photos do it justice! Any chance anyone bringing one of these to the Southern Jam??

Thanks all for the kind words again.

SInce this is my first slothead, I was wondering if I should change up the strings that I'd typically put on any other acoustic. I usually use a regular ol' light gage, and have been using Dean Markley Alchemy coated ones.

Do folks tend to go with a different sort on these?

Also, I'm assuming it's just like when I'd string my student guitar (1000 or so years ago). The winds going towards the outside. Is that right?

Facilitated by you, Phil or Dave, we could have a really informative session at the tour entitled "Photographing Your Guitar."

I like that idea, Brad. Damon, I've been using Martin Eric Clapton lights on my Folklore. I just thought I'd try a set and I really like them on it. I had some Martin strings and at least one set came with the guitar, so for some reason I've only had Martins on the Folklore since I had it. I got another set of the ECs that I need to try on another guitar, but I can't decide which one.
The rest I use Adamas or D'Addario lights.

Damon, Man you can make a guitar look good. I can`t take a pic worth a crap but I do enjoy looking. Like I said if I didn`t have a couple of guitar repairs to pay for this one would have been a keeper...

If off to change the strings now.

Very nice Damon.

And nice photos...
Maybe I could take better photos if I didn't get my Digital Camera from Goodwill! :p
[HP PhotoSmart C30, $4.99]

Maybe I should have taken Photography in High School instead of Marine Biology, huh?
At least I would have used the Photo Smarts!
