Crappy picture and description of some issues with a high starting price, but hey....these black ones are really rare.

...by the way, I do intend to post some pics of my 1537 hopefully sometime next week...I'm hoping to touch her up a bit beforehand (and I need to get ahold of a good digital camera).

Norseman,
Wipe that smug look off of your post!

Being on the high 1537 pedestal and looking down on the mere mortals without one makes us forget to look up and see the even higher pedestal that has the #47RI owners looking down at us with smirks on their faces!

Know what you mean Jeff....I have gone from 4 over a period of time to now only having my 1547.

Since it is so similar to the '87 collectors (both cutaway) I have been seriously debating about letting one of them go.

Stephen, I think there's a major difference between my 1537 and the 87 and plan to keep them until I die or can't play any more for other reasons. I wonder if I put the same strings on both they'd sound and play close to the same. Even so, the appearance of the two guitars is sufficiently different that I would keep them for the variety.
Oh, heck. I just have no plans to ever get rid of one of my guitars. There, I admitted it.

There there Mark....there is hope for people like you (my suggestion is to buy a guitar you don't really want so you can show the wife you are selling a "few" of them off)!

Oh yeah....both my '87 and 1547 are running with the same type/brand strings. Which strings are you playing on each one?

I have Adamas 1818s on the 87, but lighter strings on the 1537. I forgot what Noah said he put on them and it plays so well that I have been reluctant to change them. Since I got the 87 I realized that the strings on the 1537 are going dead. It says a lot for the guitar that everyone who has played it thinks it's the best guitar they ever played even with the dead strings.
I may be compulsive about refusing to let go of my guitars, but Stephen should be committed if he sells off all of his 1537/47s. We already know Jeff W. is nuts.

d'addario extralight(010-047), but I'm about to change to Adamas 1818s (012-053). If it plays and sounds too much like the 87, maybe I'll sell it.
Just kidding. I'll just change back to lighter strings.

but the 1537 is NOT a CUTAWAY like the 1547.

That probably explains some of the difference you hear between the 2 guitars that I do not hear

I thought of that. So you wanna trade a 1547 for a 1537? Just teasing again. I need to get together with Tim and try the 1537 next to the 1547.

$800 was kinda steep to start off given the condition.
