Well, ya'll knew it wouldn't be long. This nut is just too wide for me to adapt to since I've been playing 1 3/4 so much, and it don't take much to screw up my technique
Anyway, Very nice foil label 1614 about to celebrate it's 35th birthday I just stole off Ebay. The guitar has no cracks, dings, dents etc... Very little fret wear with perfect neck. Electronics work great and the case is one of the better brown ones I've seen. I spent 2 hours or so cleaning it up and resetting the action which is a labor of love, so I won't include that in the price. I'll let it go for just what I have in it. I paid 360.00 plus 85.00  shipping, a new set of Elixirs at 15.00 comes to 460.00. I'll sell it for that + whatever shipping costs (and or paypal) to get it to you. I would prefer to sell it stateside to avoid overseas shipping and currency exchange costs.

One of the few foil label era guitars that I would enthusiastically endorse! A great guitar for somebody....

I hope she didn't buy it on my recommendation. I hate it when people are indebted to me.....

Well, I should have posted this a while ago, but better late than never. I'm taking advantage of the great pics Trader posted of this guitar. It's a nice little guitar with a warm sound. The wider neck is very pleasant to play on, and it sounds great plugged in. I was so afraid I would have to keep this one too, but because I have the 1617, the LX, and the Adamas, I guess it'll be OK to let this one go. It won't be on the wall for too long. People are drawn to any roundback guitar I have on the wall. And I am always getting guys in who complain that their fingers are too fat. This'll shut 'em up. Now I just wish people would stop with their well-meaning advice - "You've got to get these steel strings off of here. This is a classical guitar and should have nylon strings." I explain that it is not, but half the time I don't think they believe me.

Tell them if they buy it, you'll throw in a new set of high tension strings with it.

I've said this before. I got a great deal on my 1614 because some "luthier" told the prior owner that it was made for nylon strings. I got it with the wound strings tied on and the nylon strings in the case with some funny attempted knots in them. I don't know how long the guy spent trying to make the nylon strings work before he gave up and sold it.

So, are you posting it for sale here or simply letting us know it's for sale in your shop?

It's for sale in my shop. If I sold it to one of you I'd feel obligated to sell it for less than I know I can get here at the shop. People in the Hills love Ovations and will pay quite a bit more than I could sell it to "family" for and still keep a clean conscience.

Understandable.

Seeing the pictures again and TJ's sale price from 2 weeks ago, there's definitely a good profit to be made on that one.
