Location: Blue Ridge Mountains | Owned one for a few years back in the day...great sound and that's not a bad price...I'm w/Beal on the action though...w/Guild's dual truss rod system on twelve strings, high action could be an expensive fix.... |

A good Guild will give a different sound. How bad do you want a different 12 string sound? |

The main reason I was asking about it was because it was just down the road a few miles. That's the great thing about this board: lots of knowledgable people. |

Location: nashville | I have that guitar 1999 model , I LOVE IT. A neck reset is expensive 300-400 so if it needs ones 500 is a bit high. The neck can be a bit wide for some compaired to the O and taylor but if you like to do a little finger picking that wide neck comes in handy. To may ear compaired to everything I test drove the quild had a more balance and even tone. All the Taylors sounded a little tinny to me. But no matter what 12 I tried the Jumbo's were the better unplugged. |

Location: Jet City | FWIW, a I let a F212 owner play my Elite 12 on Wednesday at open mic for a song.
Afterwads, I had to tell him "NO" several times when he offered to buy it.
The action and playability is what got him. I've heard some wonderful 12 string wood boxes, and have even owned a couple, but nothing plays like an O. |

Location: Nashville TN. | I was thinking about a Guild F512 (same thing with rosewood body) If bought the Guild I wanted it to be
made in New Hartford. Not in production yet.
Guild makes some wonderfull sounding 12 string.
Playability is iffy. Some have the "Guild Hump" where the neck and body meet.
I ended up buying an Adamas W598. |

Location: Cincinnati | The point is moot since he sold the D-35. I was hoping to do a package purchase with a discount if I liked the Guild. I'll keep eye out for a decent Pacemaker. Thanks for all the responses. |
