I am not a sentimental sort.

but just a thanks to Adamas/ovation guitars.

without there I would not have made the friends that I have made in almost every state of the US and various countries all around the world.

The folks that worked in the factory I have known for nearly 20 years I considered friends. and I feel for them and their families in this difficult economy. I hope they find new jobs and remain in the music industry where their talents will be best suited.

for once I am rather glad to have a pile of ovations in stock.....

I want to add my thank you for making guitars that I have loved playing and will continue to play for as long as I can. I am just happy I got my UTE. Always dreamed of getting a custom Ovation/Adamas in the future, but will hold out hope that the future might bring a surprise.

From 1977, when we bought our first Ovation to play at our wedding, till a couple weeks ago, when we went to a concert and heard a duo who got together back then because of a love of Ovation guitars, the Kaman family has brought us into contact with many people who broadened our horizons. This group has helped renew my interest in music and allowed me to meet people around the world who share that interest. Although I won't have the opportunity to buy any more new Ovations, I have plenty and now will have to spend less time looking and more time playing.

Don't forget the GPS...

Bought another Garmin, Model 3590 LMT. Speaks street names and doesn't say Recalculating (Word appears on the screen) . It does repeat the current direction e.g. "Turn Left on Main Street" over and over until it recalculates the new directions. Its a trade off but less annoying.

Thank you everyone that made Ovation what it was!

A special thanks to my friend John Budny who was always there with what was needed!
Not only like family but like the family that that had a truck when you needed a hand and the right answer at the right time.

Now move to the Northwest and start making Adamii

My first good, new guitar was an Ovation, 55 years ago. I counted up all I can remember and I think I've had 12. While I've strayed once in a while, I always came back to Kaman guitars and their slickest, guickest playing necks and booming bass.
My thanks also, goes out to all the fine craftsman who, over the years have produced a legacy of great instruments.
I'll be playing mine as long as I can. I wish you well.

MY thanks go to Charlie and Bill for giving me some of the happiest days of my life, plus some of the best friends I ever had - Becky and Glenn, Randy, Dave, Berwald, Robbie, Kitty, Eve, Cheryl, and so many others. Quite a few are still close friends today.

Thanks for what you did for my Dad too. When he died and there was not only standing room only, but lots of people outside on the sidewalk because the funeral home couldn't fit one more person...and it seemed like every person who ever worked with Dad was there...well, you folks gave the only comfort to be had, just to know how much everybody loved him.

Gotta go. I don't think tears are good for my computer keyboard.

Thank you all.
For all the joy and pleasure to play my Ovation guitars. I dreamt about Ovation since I was a teen and thanks to you all, I'm the lucky owner of the most innovated and beautiful guitars in the world.
Good luck !

I didn't know anything about anything when I bought my first guitar, just that the UKII spoke to me above all the others.

I love and still love that guitar above any other worldly possession. While I've thoroughly enjoyed all of my other Ovations, I do believe it would never have reached this point had I not fallen in love with that UKII in the first place. There are very few things in life that I have felt as passionate about.

Thank you Charlie who begat Bill who begat the UKII, and thanks to all the workers and designers that had a hand in it and all the other wonderful models before and after. A special thanks to John and Kim too. Enough can't be said for the level of service, attention, and detail you and the rest of the team provided.

In addition to the posts on Facebook and several guitar sites, a couple of comments. My first Ovation was a 1158 CL acoustic dark sunburst 12-str that had been a NAMM guitar in 1980. The mom & pop store was Marty's Guitars in Gresham, just east Portland. Until then, I had been playing a Martin 12. With the 1158's dark sunburst and abalone, I felt that I was going to have to get a sombrero with silver threads. And, it was a non-traditional round back. I played it. Didn't buy it but went back and played it over the next three days. Bought it on the 3rd day. Never questioned my purchase. Since 2002 I started to look for other guitar models but only if Ovation/Adamas as I had confidence in the company's products and customer service, both for new and used. I have needed and received outstanding support to repair some of the used guitars. I remember the hours that Kim spent with me over the phone guiding me through how to fix finish cracks and other repairs. Both Kim and John have been outstanding. Of course, customer service includes everyone 'on the floor'. At one time, I bought a 1976 Patriot that had been seriously damaged. With full disclosure from the OFC'er, I had it sent directly to Ovation. Kim didn't ask, he just threw the case out. After awhile, Kim had to go find it. Found out that the guys had just kept working on it. It is as new yet cost about the same as two leather guitar straps. Not sure if they knew that I am 1st cousin to Thomas Jefferson (includes Woodson, Randolph, Lighthorse Henry Lee, etc,) but it is my commemoration of the sacrifices of the many families and individuals during our revolution. Ovation staff have always had their hearts guiding them to make and/or repair of the instruments. Never had a chance to go for a tour but I feel a strong loss both for the employees and for the relationships that Ovation/Adamas/Hamer has given us. This was a unique guitar company. I know I will never feel this confidence in another.

A lot of good people, a lot of good guitars, a lot of good times. Lets remember these. Not a lot of fuckin bean counters who loaded the gun and pulled the trigger.

My first Ovation I didn't even know WAS an Ovation... I thought it was some cheap knock-off (which it kind of was), but it looked like an Ovation, it had the same shaped head stock as an Ovation, the same round bowl back, but where it should say OVATION it said MATRIX. It was a model 1738 12-string with Sunburst finish. I usually played it with only the six strings, cause it was just too hard to keep fully in tune (damn my sensitive ears).

My second Ovation was a real Ovation, a 1979-year Legend 1651 model that I picked up in the late 80's in some pawn shop for $200. I finally bought my second Ovation about a year ago, my third (an Elite) about three or four months ago, and my fourth was a rescue of another 1979-year Legend, but this one was a 1617. It was some time after I got my second one that I found this group and found you all AND you all helped fuel my fever, my passion, not only for the Ovations that I've always loved, but for the acoustic guitar itself. I've probably played more in the last year than I did the previous ten years. I'm just sorry I've come to the party so late, but so long as the party is still going... I'm sure glad I finally made it. Oh...so thanks for that OFC!

So, where's the Big F'n O Wake? If it's 2-1/2 hours for Phil Wong and he's in Queens, then I'm thinking maybe.... somewhere in Connecticut... maybe near Hartford? Just a guess.

Oh... and let me second Tony's props to marenostrum on his website. Got it saved, too.

And finally let me add my thanks to all the guys and gals from the "Mothership," we're all going to be lost without you and we don't know how we're getting back to our home planets without a Mothership to take us there, but we're still hopeful that a small escape pod or two might just find it's way onto American shores somewhere and bring us a taste of home. And I'm hopeful that I can get my first Adamas before they become worth their weight in GOLD.

And to all the suits at Fender... I tried one of your Stratocasters once, I didn't like it that much..... sold it. Now these Ovation guitars... I LOVE THEM and I've never sold ANY of them, nor do I plan to do so. I don't think there's any other line of guitars that even comes close to the innovation and design of an Ovation, heck we electrified all of you, because before us there wasn't any (good) acoustic/electric sound. I also don't think there's ANY other line/brand of guitar that has quite the truly passionate and devoted fans as Ovation does. Now go fetch me a crappy Fender acoustic guitar so I can bust it over your noggin.

But...you'll have to excuse me just a bit or perhaps ignore me just a bit, because what do I know, I'm just a...
