Joined: March 2005 Posts: 5563 Location: Blue Ridge Mountains | Brown delivered today and upon opening the box and the case inside, I was transported back to 1987...Inside was a pristine 1987 Collectors and all of the original paperwork/case candy... It is beautiful and sings: it has never been played (until I got it out of the case)...it came directly from the original owner who put it away until two months ago and sold it to the person I bought it from who has a store and never touched it except to take pictures and sell it (to me...) I'll let the pic's tell the story: we have a mostly overcast day but the sun did manage to peak through...the case is mint as well...I played it for nearly an hour before calling several to tell them the good news... The guitar has the original COA with the original owners name in calligraphy and on a small brass plate attached to the COA...It also has the original sotry of the making of the 87C as told by the former Gas Station Guy and signed by him on both the COA and the book. Too Cool...Also has the original case keys and the owners manuel... So, without further a do: here tis: The pic's do not do justice to the colors in the abalone...greens, blues, pinks, white, etc This is much nicer than the 87C-5 I had sold last year. Here is the entire album link: just double click on each pic for a large format resolution... 1987-4 Collector Enjoy!

I would have bought that one over the 88' if I'd seen it first (they didn't have any 87's left in the store at the time).

Even the wife and kids have commented (well my son just smiled at 2 1/2) how nice this guitar sounds: my daughter of course likes the abalone. SHMBO is generally not a fan of all things Ovation: she loves the Brazilian RW guitars I own...hmmmm)...but she does like the sound of this '87C-4. ;)
